The under 23 men for Team USA have been training for the last week under the watchful eye of coach Sayers in the beautiful and peaceful hilly roads around Charlottesville, VA.  In a couple of days, Sayers will travel to Richmond, where he’ll work with the elite men riders, to get them ready for the 160 mile road race coming up on September 27th. Sayers has directed the elite men for the last eight World Championships, and it’s his third year working with the under 23 men.

When asked how the elite team is shaping up, Sayers sounds cautiously optimistic. “I think we’re a little under the radar, as compared to the main teams”, he says, “but we’ve had a lot of guys doing a lot of really good things lately, and we’ll see how it goes.”
